Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman Reveals Her Go-To Meals
Little Big Town may have won two Grammys, headlined three tours, and have been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, but when singer Kimberly Schlapman calls you, there’s no air of those achievements looming in the background, like an entitled elephant in the room. There’s no PR person running interference or conference call dial-ins — she just rings directly, chatting casually in between errands. It makes sense, then, that the whole reason we’re chatting — the singer has a new cookware line, Love and Daisies — comes from a very practical place.
As she gears up to take center stage in a new role — playing chef, as she shows off her new line during HSN’s 24-Hour Cook’s Event on April 19 — we talked all things food, from what she eats in a day to the one fast food joint she just can’t resist, no matter how hard she tries.

Schlapman grew up in Georgia, surrounded by apple orchards, so when she left for college in Birmingham, her grandmother made her take a treat with her to ward off homesickness: a glazed apple cake.
“That recipe’s in my cookbook [Oh, Gussie],” she says. “My grandmother used to bake all the time, and she’d have a freezer full of cakes. She’d send me home with one every time I visited. It was just one way she and my mama taught me that you can love on people — and really take care of them — with food.”
